Welcome to my art gallery!

Art Gallery

Marcell Duchamp once said: “I am still a victim of chess. It has all the beauty of art — and much more.”

I agree, but at the same time I feel the opposite. Maybe it’s because I’ve played professionally for more than twenty years. The sixty-four squares are not enough for me to express myself.  This was my drive for studying art, graphics and architecture, my long-time interests.

Since early childhood I had liked to draw, but didn’t have time to learn proper technique until the early 1990s.  I was lucky to have wonderful mentors, who helped me see things differently and nurtured my enthusiasm. In 1997 I started studying arts at Tel Hai College in northern Israel. Despite all the problems in that area, it’s one of the most beautiful places I know. I was surrounded with calmness and natural beauty, and yet couldn’t help but think of history and war. All I wanted in such atmosphere, of course, was to stretch out the canvas and paint. I have had a passion for painting ever since.

My favorite medium is acrylics; it most suits my artistic style and today’s fast-motion world. Every emotion I experience in daily life gives me a reason to paint or at least draw. I love that. Often an idea is just the beginning of a journey to a wonderful, if at times frustrating, creation. Though some of my compositions are planned, others are totally spontaneous. Painting gives me the great satisfaction of creating: I feel totally free and often let the paintbrush lead the way.

I hope you enjoy spending time in the gallery as much as I do presenting it to you!
